STEEVES, JANET ELIZABETH “BESSIE” - With sadness the family announces the passing of Janet Elizabeth “Bessie” Steeves, loving wife of the late Arthur Steeves, which occurred on Thursday February 14, 2013 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born 1921 in Millbank, NB, she was the daughter of the late Alexander and Bertha (Russell) Gray. Bessie enjoyed doing handcrafts, sewing, taking trips by car, picking berries, cooking and writing handwritten letters. She is survived by her son Dr. Roy Steeves (Cindy) of Rothesay; grandson David Steeves of Rothesay; brother Leslie (Mary) Gray of Miramichi; nieces Susan (Wayne) Simpson of Miramichi and Brenda (Brian) Debow of Fort Myers, Florida; great niece Terri Lynn Simpson of Belleville, ON; several cousins. Besides her husband, she was predeceased by her brothers Ellis and Eldon Gray.
Resting at Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424) with visitation on Friday February 15, 2013 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Funeral service will be held at Fundy Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday February 16, 2013 at 11 a.m. Interment will follow in Fernhill Cemetery.
