Gorman: E. Doreen, 87, of North River, passed away peacefully at the Colchester East Hants Health Centre Truro on Wednesday, February 13, 2013. Born in Upper North River, she was a daughter of the late Victor and Viola (Tattrie) Tattrie. Doreen loved her family deeply and everyone she knew. She was a member of the North River United Church and active member of the Women’s Institute. Doreen was always on the move and never slowed down. She loved bowling, cards and was a member of the Fundy Games. Doreen is survived by daughters, Linda (Gordon) Lynds and Crystal (Hughie) Hutchinson both of North River; sister, Esther MacFarlane, Truro; brothers, Floyd (Marguerite) Tattrie, North River, Elroy (Pat) Tattrie, Onslow; Sterling (Vera) Tattrie, South Branch; grandchildren, Troy, Tara, Scott, Daniel; great grandchildren, Sophia, R.J., Kaitlin, Lewis, several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Harry Joseph; sister, Marguerite Greene; brother, Murray. Visitation will be held 7-9pm today, February 15, and 1-2pm Saturday, February 16, prior to funeral service at 2pm, all in the Mattatall ~ Varner Funeral Home, 55 Young Street Truro, Rev. Kym Burke-Cole officiating with a reception to follow in the funeral home. Interment will be held at a later date in the Blackmore Memorial Cemetery, Upper North River. Family flowers only.
