Fleming, Blair Alexander – Brookfield

Fleming, Blair Alexander – 52, Brookfield, passed away February 15, 2013 in Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Halifax March 14, 1960, he was a son of Bruce and Shirley Fleming, Brookfield. Blair worked at Crossley Carpets for over 30 years. He also enjoyed his time farming at the DesVries farm in Middle Stewiacke. A proud supporter of community, he was a long standing member of the Brookfield Fire Department, a first responder with BAERS, and a fly casting instructor for Atlantic Fly Fishing School. He enjoyed nature, fly fishing the rivers of Nova Scotia, and cheering on the Junior B Elk hockey team. Blair is survived by his loving wife of 28 years, Christine Angela; daughter, Amy (Daniel), Stewiacke; son, Charles (Allannah), Truro; brother, Mark (Kelly), Brookfield; and a large extended family. Blair sincerely appreciated the support of his many visitors over the past two months following his diagnosis of cancer; in particular, Rev. Larry Harrison, VON and Palliative Care. A special thank you to Dr. David Henderson and Dr. Don Rowe.

A Firemen’s service will be held Sunday, beginning at 6:45 p.m., followed by visitation 7- 9 p.m., funeral will be 2 p.m. Monday, all in Knox United Church, Rev. Larry Harrison officiating. Burial will be held at a later date in Eastville Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or a charity of choice would be appreciated by Blair's family.

Arrangements are under the direction of Arimathea Funeral Cooperative, Upper Musquodoboit.
