MELANSON, RITA (nee SURETTE) - 1919 - 2013 - Bouctouche, NB - Rita Melanson, 94, passed away peacefully at the Manoir St Jean Baptiste, Bouctouche, NB, surrounded by her loving family, on Friday, February 15th, 2013, after a brief illness. Wife of late Emery Melanson. Born in Moncton, NB on January 27th, 1919, she was the daughter of the late Christain and the late Marguerite Surette (nee Melanson). Rita will be sadly missed by her four daughters, Annette Goguen (Ola) of Cocagne, Jeannine Gautreau (Victor) of Memramcook, Félice Williams (Donald) of Cocagne and Murielle Gagnon (feu Kenneth) of Shediac; her four sons, Alban (Fernande) of Dieppe, Oscar (Dianne) of Tracadie, Omer (France) of Gatineau, QC and Pierre of Grand Sault; by her son-in-law, Gilles Lavallée of Montreal, QC; by her two sisters-in-law, Elia and Jeanne; by her fifteen grandchildren, by her fourteen great grandchildren and by several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, husband Emery, Rita was predeceased by her daughter, Marguerite Lavallée and by her brother, Clarence Surette of Moncton.
Visitations will be at Passage in Shediac Bridge on Tuesday, February 19th, 2013 from 2:00 to 4:00 pm and 7:00 to 9:00 pm and on Wednesday, February 20th, 2013 from 9:30 until 10:45am. Funeral Mass will be held at La Visitation RC Church, Grande Digue on Wednesday, February 20th, 2013 at 11:00 am. Burial to take place at a later date at Our Lady of Calvary RC Cemetery, Dieppe.
