McGUIRE, RODERICK "PETE" - 1932 - 2013 - Pete McGuire passed away peacefully at The Moncton Hospital on Monday, February 18, 2013. Born in Halifax, he was the son of the late William and Stella (Hilchey) McGuire. After retirement, Pete became a Wal-Mart greeter where he made many new friends. He often attended services at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Riverview and St. Bernard’s Church in Moncton. He was a huge baseball and football fan and enjoyed a good golf game. He loved bird watching, Friday lunches with his sons, and watching his wife work in her garden. He is survived by his beloved wife, Janet (Northrup); sons, Glenn (Margaret), Peter, Paul (Colleen); step-sons, Bruce Steeves (Shelley), Dale Steeves (Ruth), Andrew Steeves (Kristen); and grandchildren, Mackenzie, Alexander and Nicholas, a sister, Nell Devitt. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his first wife, Jean (Reid) and brother, Frank.
The family will be receiving friends and relatives at Cobb’s Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 330 Whitepine Rd., Riverview, (869-2007) on Wednesday from 6 to 8pm. The funeral will take place from Cobb’s Funeral Home Memorial Chapel on Thursday, February 21, 2013 at 11am with Father Phil Mulligan officiating.
