JEAN HINES
We, the family of the late Jean Hines extend heartfelt thanks to friends and relatives who supported us in so many ways during our recent loss. A special thank you to all who helped us during Mom’s last days at home, and many prior to that, including Dr. Robert Cohen and staff, Dr. Paula Creighton, Dr. Cheryl Tobin and nurses and staff of the CBDHA Palliative Care Unit and nursing staff of the VON, including Lorne Pemberton for years of exemplary nursing service. Many thanks to the staff at Lawtons Drugs. Thank you as well to the staff of DVA. Sydney: Bev MacDonald, Linda Janega, Joyce Fitzgerald and others for years of competence and caring. Mom’s last years were made better by outstanding caregivers, Jeannine MacLean, Robin MacLean and Irene McNeil. Thank you to those who visited the funeral home and memorial service, sent cards and flowers, made charitable donations, sent food to our home and conveyed messages by phone and email. Much appreciation is extended to Rev. Thomas Whent who conducted a beautiful memorial service. Special thank you is extended to dear friend and neighbor Gary MacLean for extraordinarily kind words conveyed at the funeral service. Thank you to extended-family members, Peg Cummings and Annette Lefort for readings. Gratitude is extended to Carol Richardson and members of the United Baptist Church and United Church choirs and to friend and organist Don Crouse. Thank you to soloist Jeannine MacLean, for her beautiful rendition of How Great Thou Art…not just at the funeral, but for many times sung previously with Mom in our kitchen. Gratefulness is extended to members of the Honor Guard, Royal Canadian Legion Branch 12 for their final farewell. How proud and honored our mother would have been! Thank you to the ladies of the United Baptist church for their hospitality and tea, and to caterers, Jodi Oakley (church) and Suzanne Annesty of the BeanBank (home). Many thanks to Kolin Weatherbee and the staff of Sydney Memorial Chapel for kindness and professionalism. Thank you to those who travelled long distances on winter roads to be with us, and to others who have continued to “check in” during the weeks since, just to see how we are doing. We are doing “ok” and we know it will get better. We will always be grateful for the love and support afforded us at this difficult time.
