It is with extremely heavy hearts that we, the family, announce the passing of our loving daughter, wife, mother, sister and friend. Trisha Lorraine Quinn-Finlayson passed away on Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2013 at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney.
Born in Moncton, N.B., she was the daughter of Michael and Daveen (Balsillie) Quinn, Blackett’s Lake.
Trisha was employed with Stream as the manager for Sirius Satellite Radio.
Trisha had a great love for life and travel, especially to Georgetown, Bahamas. She loved this location, visiting it 13 times in the past three years. She enjoyed concerts and sporting events and had a deep rooted love for animals, especially her dog and two cats.
But first and foremost for Trisha was her family. She had a love and commitment to them that never wavered and she always put the needs of others ahead of her own.
Surviving, besides her parents, are loving husband, John; daughter, Jessica Quinn, at home; sons, Kody Quinn, at home, Brett Quinn, Blackett’s Lake; stepchildren, Ainsley and Meghan Finlayson, Mira; brother, Michael ‘Fridge’ Quinn (Tammy), Enfield; grandson, Landon MacArthur, Sydney. Trisha will also be greatly missed by aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Trisha was predeceased by maternal grandparents, George and Kay Balsillie; paternal grandparents, Frank and Mary Quinn.
In honouring Trisha’s wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no visitation by request. A memorial service will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. in the V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home Chapel, 16 Reserve St., Glace Bay with Fr. Daniel Boudreau officiating. Burial will take place in Forest Haven Memorial Garden at a later date.
Memorial donations may be made in Trisha’s name to the Hospice Palliative Care Society of Cape Breton County.
