Passed peacefully away at the Health Sciences Centre on Wednesday, February 20, 2013, aged 83 years, in the presence of his loving family. Predeceased by brothers: William, Alexander, Edward, Jack and sisters Gladys Murphy and Olive Murphy. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories his best friend and soul mate for the past 53 years, Josephine (Hannon); his five children: Mark (Kitchener, ON), Brian (Saint John, NB), Mary Tucker (Darrell, CBS), Joanne Mason (David, Bedford, NS), and Jacklyn Handrigan (John), Paradise; grandchildren: Donna, Amanda and Laura Gellately; Colin and Nathan Tucker, Erin and Hilary Mason, and Nicole and Kathleen Handrigan; great-granddaughter Leah Gellately; sister Elizabeth (Betty) French and sister-in-law Gladys Gellately; very special sister-in-law Helen Lane; sister-in-law Teresa Edge; and brothers-in- law: Cyril, Gerald, Samuel, Basil and Eugene Hannon. Visitation at Barrett’s Funeral Home on Commonwealth Avenue, Mount Pearl, on Friday, February 22 from 12:00 p.m.-9:00 p.m. and on Saturday, February 23rd, 10:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. Funeral Mass to follow from Mary Queen of the World Parish on Saturday at 1:00 p.m. Cremation to follow.
