On Friday, Feb. 22 , 2013, Mary Ferguson passed peacefully into the presence of her Lord.
Born in Edinburgh, Scotland, Mary was the only child of Ina and William Bartlett.
She was a veteran of the Second World War, serving in England and Ireland with the RAF. While in Scotland she met and married Frank Wilson Ferguson of Sydney. Mary was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church, WMS, Women's Institute, The Mira Gaelic Choir, and the War Brides Association.
Mary is survived by her daughter, Elizabeth Ann (Ferguson) Allen and son, Kenneth William Ferguson; grandsons, Leeming Frank (Lee) Allen, Jordan and Ryan Ferguson. Also survived by brother-in-law, Angus (Alberta) Ferguson and sister-in-law, Georgie MacGibbon.
Mary was predeceased by husband, Frank, March 2011, sister-in-law, Catherine Ferguson, and brother-in-law, Nelson MacGibbon.
Visitation was Sunday, Feb. 24, 2013, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at S.W. Chant and Son Funeral Home, 564 Alexandra St., Sydney, N.S. Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. today (Monday, Feb.25, 2013) at Westminster Presbyterian Church, Herbert Street, Sydney.
