Bernice Satterthwaite passed away peacefully with her family at her side on Thursday, January 28th, 2010 at the age of 56.

She will be lovingly remembered by her husband, partner and best friend Robert “Bob”; her children Vern (Sherry) Trainer, Margie Smith (Kelly Keenan) and Tammy Trainer; her grandchildren Kiaira, Joshua, James (Smith), Hannah, Trysten, Wyatt (Trainer); father John Rose and mother Margaret McGivern; brothers Jim (Debra) Rose and Darrel Rose; sisters Allene (Don) Schickerowsky, Wendy (Peter) Marshall and Margy Funk (Jim Houweling); and many nieces & nephews, aunts, uncle and long time friends.

She was predeceased by her brother Rory Delbert Rose on March 21, 1957.

Bernice was born in Kamloops, BC on September 29, 1953. She will always be remembered for her devotion and loyalty to her husband and family. Bernice was an avid gardener and meticulous groomer of her lawns and flower beds. She enjoyed the time spent with her love, Bob in their RV and was hoping to spent time travelling enjoying their retirement. Bernice was proud of the time she spent as a Home Support worker and often remembered her clients with love and compassion. Bernice found a friend when she married Bob, as a special bond grew between Bernice and Bob’s sister, Shirley. You could often hear Bernice say that she not only gained a husband but a new sister.

The Family wish to thank the team at the Kamloops Cancer Clinic, the Nurses and Volunteers at the Marjorie Willoughby Snowden Hospice house for their care and compassion not only to Bernice but her entire family. To Dr Jim Howie, how can we even begin to say thank you.

Bernice requested that in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Marjorie Willoughby Snowden Memorial Hospice Home, 72 Whiteshield Cr. South, Kamloops, BC, V2S 2S9.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, February 3, 2010 in the Kamloops Funeral Home Chapel, 285 Fortune Drive.
