Passed peacefully away at Chancellor Park on March 2, 2013 in the presence of his loving family. Leaving to mourn his loving wife of 58 years: Elsie (nee Miles); sons: John (Karen) Paradise, NL and Steven (Deliliah) Thompson, MB; grandchildren: Mark, Brent, Steven Jr., Katie, Amber, Tia and Belle; one cherished brother Gordon (Maud) Hermitage, NL and one sister-in-law Frances Rose (Al Bargery) Grand-Falls, NL; as well as many nephews, nieces, cousins and friends. Special friends: Frank and Helen Barnes, Topsail NL; Special thanks to the doctor’s and nursing staff of Chancellor Park second floor for their excellent care of Baxter and kindness to family members.
“When I come to the end of the road and the sun has set for me, I want no rites in a gloom filled room, why cry for a soul set free? Miss me a little- but not too long and not with your head bowed low. Remember the good times we once shared, Miss me but let me go.”
Cremation has taken place. Resting at Carnell’s Funeral Home, 1045 Topsail Rd on Monday, March 4, 2013 from 7 - 9 p.m., Tuesday, March 5, 2013 from 2 - 4 p.m. and 7 - 9 p.m. Funeral service will take place at “St. John the Evangelist” Anglican Church, Topsail on Wednesday the 6th of March at 10:30 a.m. Inurnment to follow at the St. John the Evangelist Cemetery.
