LIRETTE, JANET ALICE (CLEGHORN) - Janet A. Lirette of Fredericton, NB, wife of Leon L. Lirette, passed away following a courageous battle of a sudden illness on March 3, 2013 at Saint John Regional Hospital. Janet was born at Harvey Station, NB in 1947, a daughter of the late Alton and Isabel (Hood) MacMullin. She was a school teacher and had been employed for several years at the Nashwaaksis Middle School as an educational assistant. Janet was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. In addition to her husband, she is survived by a daughter Nicole Moffitt (Keith) of Harvey Station, NB and their children, Samual and Maxwell; a son, Garth Cleghorn (Candace) of Harvey Station, NB and their children Caleb and Hannah; sisters, Joan Leclair (Gary), Sudbury, ON and Alta Henry (Neil), Magaguadavic, NB; a brother, Martin MacMullin (Saundra), Magaguadavic, NB; a brother-in-law, Glenn Winchester, Quispamsis, NB; step-daughters, Debbie Green, Cathy Lirette, and Allison Lirette, all of Moncton, NB; several sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law in Leon’s family; nieces and nephews. Janet was predeceased by her first husband, Dale Cleghorn and two sisters, Brenda Winchester and infant Judith.
Visiting hours will be held at Swan Funeral Chapel, 1826 Highway 3, Harvey Station, NB on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral service will be held at Knox Presbyterian Church, 2412 Highway 3, Harvey Station, NB on Thursday, March 7, 2013 at 2 p.m. with Rev. Bonnie Wynn officiating. Interment will be at Harvey Settlement Cemetery at a later date. Honorary pallbearers will be Janet’s nieces and nephews, Ken Leclair, Korine Visentin, Kim Coote, Kelly Shackell, Derek Winchester, Shaun Winchester, Tarra Patriquin, Jeremy Henry, Courtney MacMullin and Tallyia MacMullin.
