It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Mary Ellen Brown on Jan. 29, 2010, surrounded by her family.
She passed into God’s hands with open arms. Mae was born in Florence, Jan. 21, 1925. She was the daughter of the late Randell and Kathleen Pardy of Florence.
She was predeceased by her husband, William C. (Buck) Brown, as well as her three brothers, Frank, Ralph and Jim Pardy.
Mae will always be remembered for her love of sewing, knitting, gardening, bingo, playing cards and spending time with her grandchildren.
She survived by her children, Frances Dorado (Joe), New Brunswick, William (Colleen), Sydney Mines, Ralph, Port Hawkesbury, Brian (Melanie), Guelph, Ont. Mae is also survived by her loving granddaughters, Chi (Jimmy), Cher (Darryl), Jillian (Marc), Shannon, Olivia, Elizabeth; great-grandsons, Brydon, Tristan, Brady and Alexander. Also survived by sisters, Dena MacLellan (Howard), Groves Point, Helen MacLellan (Billy), Florence, and Neil (Bessie) Pardy, Florence; and one great-granddaughter, Nadia. She will be remembered by many nieces and nephews and dear friends.
Visitation for Mary Brown will be held in Fillmore and Whitman Funeral Home, Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel on Tuesday at 11 a.m. with Rev. Nick Phillips officiating.
Burial will be held at Brookside Cemetery at a later date.
