Joyce Winnifred MacRae-Dauphinee, 65, of Bayside, passed away March 3, 2013, in the Halifax Infirmary, QEII.
Born in North Sydney, she was a daughter of Alex MacRae and the late Eileen (Harnish) MacRae. Joyce was a member of CGIT and graduated from Riverview Rural High School. After completion of her hairdressing course in Sydney, she worked in BC, Ontario and Halifax. Joyce then went on to work for over 22 years with the Canadian Cancer Society. She was very proud to have obtained her private pilot's license and loved flying to new places. Joyce was also a very talented seamstress having made a lot of her own clothes as well as clothes for others and also loved keeping in touch with her friends on facebook.
Surviving are her husband of 35 years, Russell; sister, Linda MacRae Triff; brother, Donald MacRae as well as several nieces, nephews, grand-nieces, grand-nephews, aunts and uncles.
Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of Atlantic Funeral Home, 6552 Bayers Rd., Halifax. At Joyce's request, there will be no visitation or funeral.
Donations in memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or Bide Awhile Animal Shelter.
