DORCAS, CEDRIC - It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Cedric Andrew Dorcas of Saint John West on March 4, 2013 at the Saint John Regional Hospital after a brief illness. Cedric was born in Fredericton on April 23, 1925, son of the late Keith C. Dorcas and Lillian E. (VanDine) Dorcas. His is survived by his sister Jean E. Andrews of Hudson, Ma., brothers Robert K. of Saint John and Winston F. of Northbridge, Ma., along with several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife Dale, brother William B. and sister Marlene E. Hampton. He had resided in Toronto, Ontario for many years where he met and married his wife Dale. Cedric and Dale enjoyed many summers at their cottage in Lake Simcoe. They later retired to Winnipeg, Manitoba and after a few years of his wife’s passing he moved back home to Saint John in 2007 where he resided with his niece Judy Randall until his passing.
Castle Funeral Home “Fallsview”, 309 Lancaster Ave, Saint John, NB are entrusted with the arrangements. At Mr. Dorcas’ request there will be no visitation. A memorial service will be held at Castle “Fallsview” Chapel on Saturday, March 9 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Leander Mills officiating. Reception to follow at “Fallsview” Reception Centre. Donations to charity of choice would be appreciated by the family.
