It is with deepest sadness that the family of Catherine MacPhee announce her peaceful passing at home on Jan. 30, 2010.
Born Jan. 14, 1950, in Glace Bay, Catherine was a daughter of the late Victor and Thelma (Bresson) Doucette.
Besides her parents, Catherine was predeceased by her loving daughter, Paula (MacPhee) Thiessen.
Left to cherish her wonderful memory are her husband of 41 years, Blair; and daughters, Bernadette (Simon) Barrett, Hinton, Alta., Susan (Dale) McPherson, Calgary, Alta; and son, Donald (Kristen) MacPhee, Sherwood Park, Alta. Catherine was also blessed with three beautiful grandchildren, Bailey, Breton and Raegan, whom she loved dearly. She enjoyed seeing all her children and grandchildren at Christmastime. She also leaves behind many family and friends who will miss her.
Catherine always had a smile for everyone and when she was even too weak to talk, she always managed a smile.
In honouring Catherine’s wishes, there will be no visitation. Cremation has taken place under the care of Curry’s Funeral Home, Glace Bay, and a private family service will be held at a later date.
Donations in Catherine’s memory may be made to the Cape Breton Cancer Patient Care Fund or to a charity of your choice.
