WILLIAM ANTHONY MCNEIL
June 9, 1933 – March 3, 2013
It is with great sadness that the family of the late William McNeil announces his passing on Sunday, March 3, at Western Memorial Hospital at the age of 79 years. Born in Port aux Basques, William was the son of the late John and Martha Jane (nee Kettle) McNeil. He was predeceased by his daughter Colleen Standing, grandson Jamie McNeil, daughter in law Cindy McNeil, brothers Jim (Molly), Fred (Violet), Art (Alice), sisters Elizabeth (Tom) Luedee, Martha (Howard) Osmond, Minnie (Bill) Matthews, Mildred (Malcolm) Campbell. He leaves to mourn with many fond and precious memories devoted wife Elsie (nee Gaulton) of 58 years; loving father of David McNeil (Sandra) Marystown NL, Judy (Freddy) LeRiche Port aux Basques, Vivian (David) White Bridgewater NS, Yvonne (Claude) Hann Halifax NS, Tony McNeil (Christine) South Branch, Audrey (Derek) Warren Saskatchewan, Bonnie McNeil Victoria BC, Karen (Jeff) Dickson Oromocto NB, Roger McNeil Port aux Basques; 19 grandchildren; five great grandchildren, a large circle of brother and sisters in law, nieces, nephews and many friends. Visitation took place on Monday from 7-9 p.m. and on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at East Haven Funeral Home. Funeral services took place on Wednesday, March 6, 2 p.m. at St. Paul's Anglican Church, Grand Bay officiated by Rev. Clayton Billard. To honor Williams wishes cremation has taken place, interment will take place at St. Paul's Anglican Cemetery at a later date.
