LeBLANC, Willard Joseph – 91, Wedgeport, Yarmouth County, passed away peacefully after a lengthy illness, on Saturday, March 2, 2013 in Yarmouth Regional Hospital with his family at his side. Born June 14, 1921 in Wedgeport, he was a son of the late John and Ambroisine (Pothier) LeBlanc. Willard was a veteran of the second World War. During his life, he worked as a farmer, a fisherman and a carpenter. He and his wife loved camping, although their true passion was music, especially bluegrass. Willard played the guitar, and along with his wife, they loved to sing, an were both members of The Rubber Boot Band. Willard was a member and past president of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch No. 155 Wedgeport, and he was a former member of the Knights of Columbus. However, what Willard will be remembered for most was for being a caring, loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. Willard is survived by the love of his life, his devoted friend, caregiver and wife of 58 years, Regina (Surette) LeBlanc. Also surviving are their loving children, John (Ruth), Lower Wedgeport; Edward (Darlene), Wedgeport; George (Sandra), Ste. Anne-du-Ruisseau; Virginia (Brenda), Wedgeport; Patsy (Paul), Bonnieville, Alberta; grandchildren, Edward Jr., Chrissy, Courtney, Travis, Chantal, Laken, Sheldon, Amy and Daniel, as well as by thirteen great-grandchildren, and a sister, Genesta Wallace, Wedgeport. Aside from his parents, he was predeceased by a son, Milton, and siblings, Alberta, Frances, Gertrude, Mandé, Zita, Virginia, Jeanne, Eddie and Edward. Visitation took place from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at H. M. Huskilson Funeral Home, Wedgeport, with a Royal Canadian Legion service at 7:30 p.m., followed by prayers at 8 p.m. The funeral mass was held at 2 p.m. Thursday, March 7 at Saint Michael’s Catholic Church, Wedgeport, Father Albéni d’Entremont officiated. Interment followed in the parish cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Gilles Boudreau and Friends Cancer Help Fund.
