Dora Payne

PAYNE, DORA - Dora Payne of Autumn Lee Retirement Home, Moncton and formerly of Shepody, Albert County passed away on March 8th, 2013 at the home. Dora was born in Shepody, Albert County, the youngest daughter of the late William and Bertha (Govang) Payne. She was a member of the Hopewell Hill Baptist Church. Dora loved living in Shepody and spent her whole life there except when she could no longer stay at the homestead for health reasons. She enjoyed being outdoors, she loved being in her garden and picking goose tongue greens. She enjoyed quilting, needlepoint and knitting, having knit many shawls for missions during her stay at the retirement home. If Dora couldn't be in Shepody she was blessed to find an exceptional home at the Autumn Lee Retirement Home for which she was truly grateful. Special thanks to the Management and Staff of the home for the dedicated service while she was with them. It has meant so much to her sister to have her looked after so well and for Dora to be happy. She will be deeply missed by her sister, Edna Mitton of Moncton and by several cousins. Besides her parents she was predeceased by a brother, Alvan Payne and brother-in-law, Hinson Mitton.
She will be resting at the Albert County Funeral Home with the Funeral Service on Tuesday, March 12, 2013 at 2:00pm with Pastor Paul Steeves officiating. A time of visitation will be held an hour prior to the service on Tuesday from 1:00 til 2:00pm. Interment will be in the Hopewell Cemetery, Hopewell Hill, NB, at a later date. Donations to the charity of the donor's choice would be greatly appreciated. Arrangements are in the care of the Albert County Funeral Home, 4130 route 114, Hopewell Cape, NB, 734-2780 www.albertcountyfh.com
