MaryAnne Long - 70, passed away suddenly at home in Black River on Sunday, March 10, 2013, after many years of ill health. She was the daughter of the late Ivan and Frances (Jordan) Davison. She was born and grew up in Forest Hill where she attended school and was an adherent of the Forest Hill Baptist Church. In addition to her parents she was predeceased by brothers Russell and Sherman. She is survived by her husband, Larry Long, Black River; sisters, Lorraine, Edra and Terry; daughters, Trina (Mike), Taryn (Andrew); grandchildren, Jenesta, Arrian, Quentin (Shyanne), Alyssa and Paulina and great grandchild, Jade. MaryAnne worked in early years at Balcolm & Chittick, Kentville and Acadia University, Wolfville. MaryAnne will be fondly remembered for her talent of knitting as well as baking delicious apple pies and beans. She had a strong work ethic and was quick to offer help to those in need. She will also be missed by faithful dog "Jake". Visitation was held from 7-9 p.m. Tuesday, March 12, 2013 in the White Family Funeral Home, Kentville, where the funeral service, followed by a reception was held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 13, 2013, Reverend Gary Manthorne officiating. Family flowers only by request. Donations in memory may be made to the Black River Community Hall or Forest Hill Baptist Church. Burial will take place at a later date in the Black River Cemetery.
