It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Helen Bolger on March 11, 2013, age 84 years.
Born in Charlottetown and working with The Island Telephone Company, Helen married John "Jack" Bolger in 1948 and moved to Summerside. After Jack joined the Royal Canadian Air Force, they moved to many parts of the country (Goosebay, Labrador; Chatham, N.B.; Ste Sylvestre, QC; Rivers, MB; Greenwood, N.S.; Moosenee, ON), to come home to P.E.I. in 1969. Life threw a lot at her but she managed with ingenuity, tenacity, strength and grace.
Helen will be dearly missed by Michael, Colleen and Brian, her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, along with siblings: Marge (Keith) Beaton, Betty Cudmore, Kirk Gamester and Donnie (Sandy) Gamester. Helen was predeceased by husband, Jack (1981) and son, Joseph (1966), and siblings: Shirley Garnhum, Carl and Larry Gamester.
We are especially grateful for the care given at QEH units 1, 7 and 8 over the past couple of months.
Resting at MacLean Funeral Home Swan Chapel. A private funeral service will be held on Thursday. Interment later in the People's Cemetery.
If so desired, memorials may be made to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Foundation.
