July 30, 1927 ~ March 5, 2013
Jessie – late of Sechelt BC, Oakville ON and originally from Montreal QC – passed away peacefully at home on March 5, 2013 of pancreatic cancer. She was predeceased by her parents Fannie May (nee Powers) and Douglas Smith of Montreal, and her sister Elizabeth Ann (Bet) of Bermuda. Left to mourn her passing are her daughter Jill Wight (Jef Keighley) of Halfmoon Bay, BC and her son John Wight (Paula) of Bermuda. She leaves four adored granddaughters, Kristen Keighley-Wight (Nathan Glackman) and Erin Tarampi (Ryan) of Vancouver, and Catherine Wight and Sarah Wight of Bermuda as well as her two precious great-grandchildren, Dylan James Tarampi and Quinn Jessie Tarampi of Vancouver. Jessie is also survived by countless nieces, nephews and dear friends near and far.
Many thanks to Dr. Hughan, the amazing palliative home care nurses, and friends and neighbours who helped to make Mum comfortable in her final days.
A memorial service will be held at the Sechelt Arts Centre on Monday, March 18, 2013 at 1 pm. In lieu of flowers, you may wish to make a donation to Doctors Without Borders, Mum’s favourite charity.
