Joyce Aberdeen Buffett (Buell), 90, of Stellarton, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on March 12, 2013, in the Valley View Villa.
Born in New Glasgow, but she was a longtime resident of Stellarton. She was the only daughter of the late William E. Buell and Hilda Baker.
She was predeceased by her husband, Richard (Dick), brothers, Billy and Al.
She is survived by daughters: Karen (Ian) Leslie, Gayle (Gary) Barnett, Marie (Karl) Schweishelm, Kim (Julian) Harney, all of Toronto; sons: Richard (Bonny) Toronto, Earl (Wendy) Dartmouth, Paul (Truro) and Tom (Plymouth); granddaughters, Kate, Danielle, Jennifer, grandsons, Tom, Paul, Ben, Josh, Jeff, and great-grandchildren, Hannah and Madeline, brothers, Rod (Lorraine) and Bob (Evelyn.)
Joyce proudly served her country as a member of Canadian Women’s Army Corps and was a longtime member of the Stellarton Royal Canadian Legion. Joyce was a resident of Valley View Villa since 2011, a place she called home. She enjoyed the simple pleasures of life travelling throughout the Maritimes, going to yard sales and her faithful companion Skippy.
The family would like to to express our heartfelt thanks to the staff at the Villa for their support and loving care they provided Mom.
In accordance with her wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no service. Interment to take place in Heatherdale Memorial Gardens at a later date.
