ROBISON, RUTH PAULINE (LITTLE) - With great sadness, the family of Ruth P. Robison, Campburn Farm, Harvey Station, NB announces her sudden passing on March 13, 2013 at Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital.
Born at Harvey Station, NB in 1915, she was the daughter of the late Arnold and Zilla (Coburn) Little. A member of St. Andrew's United Church, Ruth participated in various church activities and baked for fund-raising. She was a member of the UCW and for several years served on the catering committee. She enjoyed Scrabble, Bingo, knitting and shopping but most of all, her family. Ruth was a graduate of the Fredericton Normal School and taught in local area schools prior to her marriage in 1936. Ruth and her late husband, Gilbert Robison were well known in Canada and the Eastern United States for the Jersey cattle and Clydesdale horses they raised on their farm and showed at major shows. Ruth was a gracious hostess, serving meals to many in the Jersey fraternity and others who visited Campburn Farm over the years. Ruth is survived by her three daughters, Marlene MacMillian (Don), Upper South River, NS, Gail MacDonald (Harvey) and Beverley Little (Ross), both of Harvey Station, NB; nine grandchildren, Darren MacDonald (Sharda), Lori Hornick (Brent), Corine Rehn (Tim), Ruth McGinn (Mike), Scott MacMillan (Lisa), Ian Little (Susan), Robert Little (Kristi), Shawn Little (Melissa) and Alicia Little (Carson); fifteen great grandsons and one great granddaughter, Brendan, Gregory and Carter Hornick, Keagan, Connor and Colton Rehn, Ryan, Samuel and Patrick McGinn, Tyson and Owen MacDonald, Ethan, Gabrielle, Sydney, Charlie and Aiden Little; a brother, Ronald Little; several nieces and nephews and a community of admirers to whom she was known as Gram. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Gilbert Robison; a son, Graham Robison; a sister, Pearle Lister (Maurice); a brother-in-law, Edwin Robison (Jean); sisters-in-law, Marian Little, Ellen McAlary (Sandy) and Alice Berry (Cameron). Ruth leaves behind so many treasured memories of wonderful family times spent at the farm where there was always an open door, plentiful meals, warm hugs and a chocolate chip cookie jar filled to the brim. A wife, mother, sister, aunt, cousin and friend who set a high standard for the living a life of faith.
Visiting hours will be held at Swan Funeral Home Chapel, 1826 Route 3, Harvey Station, NB on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral service will be held at St. Andrew's United Church, Harvey, NB on Saturday, March 16, 2013 at 2 p.m. with Rev. Kay Clowater and Rev. Dr. Bradley Little officiating. Interment will be later at Robison Family Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be her grandsons Ian Little, Robert Little, Shawn Little, Scott MacMillan and Darren MacDonald. Honorary pallbearers will be her granddaughters, Lori Hornick, Corine Rehn, Ruth McGinn and Alicia Little. For those who wish to make a donation in memory of Ruth, the family has suggested the St. Andrew's United Church or a charity of the donor's choice.
