Grace Murray Leadbeater
Grace Murray (Porter) Leadbeater, RN, died peacefully in her 99th year at Beach Grove Home, Charlottetown, on March 14, 2013.
Grace was predeceased by her husband of 63 years, Rev. James C. Leadbeater, of Westville, N.S.; by her parents, Ellsworth and Mary Porter of Alma, N.S.; and brothers, Robert, James, Murray and Ross.
Grace is survived by her brother, Forrest (Ben) of Toronto; by her son, Alan Leadbeater, Gatineau, Quebec; and by her daughters, Mary Lou Morrison (David), and Shirley Urquhart (Roland), Charlottetown. She was blessed with four grandchildren, Corrie Urquhart-Lynch (Trevor Lynch) Donald Urquhart (Chantel Leturneau Urquhart), Heather Morrison (Jean Francois Bader), Michelle Morrison (Ian Forgeron); and five great-grandchildren, Morgan and Owen Lynch, Juliette, Joelle and Henri Bader.
Grace, a nurse, and Jim, a United Church minister, served in congregations in New Annan, Springhill and Halifax, N.S., Woodstock, N.B., and Ottawa, Ont. They left a deep legacy of loving kindness, selfless service and warm laughter.
Resting at Belvedere Funeral Home, Charlottetown, for visitation on Monday, March 18, 2013, from 5-7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or to the Palliative Care Unit of the Prince Edward Home.
A memorial service will be held at Christ Church, Cherry Valley, P.E.I., on Saturday, April 13, 2013, at 2:30 p.m.
