George William Day formally of Mortlach, SK passed away in Moose Jaw on March 14, 2013 at the age of 87. George is survived by his loving wife Dorothy, and their three children Blaine (Marianne) Day, Heather (John) Setters and Cheryl (Peter) Thorson; grandchildren: Melanie Day; Evan, Ashley and Matthew Thorson. George is predeceased by his mother and father, George and Edith Day. He was born on his parent’s farm in the Eastleigh District south of Mortlach where he grew up and went to school. He later married Dorothy in July of 1955 and raised three beautiful children on his parent’s homestead. In 1982 he moved his family to Mortlach and continued to farm until the early 1990s. George enjoyed curling and coaching his children’s baseball teams as well as the company of family and friends. There will be a Come and Go Tea held in George’s honour at The Bentley, 425 4th Ave. NW, Moose Jaw on Wednesday March 20, 2013 from 2:00PM - 4:00PM. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Canadian Diabetes Association would be appreciated. In living memory of George, a memorial planting will be made by W. J. Jones & Son Funeral Home.
