William Earl Gilson
Suddenly at home, William Earl Gilson, age 94 of Montague, occurred on Saturday, March 16, 2013. Loving husband for 72 years to Ann (nee MacKenzie) Gilson. Born March 14, 1919, Boston area, Mass, he was the son of the late Earl and Bessie (Sheffield) Gilson. William served in the second world war with the RCAF and following the war he was a New Hampshire State Trooper and worked for Allstate Insurance. He is survived by his wife Ann, son William (Betty) and grandfather to Gillian and Alex. He is also survived by his brother David Gilson (Jan, deceased), sister-in-laws Christine (Albert deceased) Ellsworth, Mary (Lloyd) Cann, brother-in-laws, Roderick (Barbara deceased) MacKenzie, Fred MacKenzie, many nieces and nephews. Aside from his parents William was predeceased by his sisters; Marion Lincoln, Connie Porter, Bette Hatch, sister-in-law, Isabel (Harold) King, brother-in-laws Alfred MacKenzie and Sander (Jean) MacKenzie.
Resting at Ferguson-Logan Montague Funeral Home where visiting will be held Wednesday, March 20, 2013 from 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral Service will be held Thursday at 1:30 pm. in the Ferguson-Logan Chapel. Interment will take place in Lower Montague Cemetery following funeral service. Memorial donations to the Lower Montague Cemetery or Dr. John M. Gillis Memorial Lodge would be appreciated by his family.
