On Friday Jan. 4, 2013 family and friends of Brenda Marie Popovich came together at St. Pius X Church, Sydney Mines to lay to rest our beloved daughter, sister, aunt and friend. We, the family would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone whose gentle hugs, kind words and presence helped carry us through this very difficult time. To everyone who delivered food to our homes, called, offered memorial and monetary donations, sent flowers, emails, sympathy and mass cards; our heartfelt thanks. Special thanks to Michael Popovich Jr. for travelling so far to be with us. We would like to thank the pallbearers - nephew Michael Popovich, brothers-in-law Brian Whittle, John Wayne Swan and cousins Phillip and Craig Popovich, and Ralph Boutilier. Thank you to Mikayla Whittle and Michelle MacLeod for doing the readings and to Kathryn MacLeod and Garrett Whittle for carrying the gifts to the altar - Aunt Brenda would have been so proud. Thank you to Father Vern Boutilier for making the service so special. To Sharon Ianetti and the the St. Pius X Choir for the beautiful music. Thank you to Anne Marie Gillis and Darryl Burton for your assistance and guidance in arranging the funeral mass. To the St. Pius X Catholic Women's League for preparing and serving a delicious lunch, a generous thank you. Thank you to Father Thomas John for the prayer at the Funeral Home. To Manning Jobes for the prompt response during the Christmas holidays, the family is sincerely thankful. To Manning and his staff, thank you for your kindness and professionalism. If anyone has been overlooked, please accept our sincere thanks. Your support will never be forgotten. Thank you with a heartfelt appreciation.
