PLYMOUTH – Edward William “Neddie” Fitt Jr., 63 of Plymouth, passed way peacefully at his home, surrounded by his loving family and friends on Feb. 4th, 2010.
Born in Stellarton, he was a son of the late Edward William Fitt Sr. and Sarah (Hurley) Fitt.
Neddie spent his younger years in Stellarton and moved to Plymouth as a teenager where he had resided ever since. He worked for a number of years at Trenton Works as a spray painter and also worked for many years as a dry waller. Neddie was well known throughout the county for his sense of humor, passion for music and love for his family and friends. Neddie's greatest pride were his six grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife of 42 years, the former Leona Ouellette, Plymouth; children: Roseanne Baker (Joe Brewer), Debert; Bill Fitt (Sheri MacIvor), Merigomish; Tracey (Mark) MacNeil, Plymouth; Bobbi-Jo (Greg) Mahar, Little Harbour; grandchildren: Troy and Morgan Baker, Sophy, Jesse and Sean MacNeil and Haidyn Mahar, special companion, Bruiser; brothers and sisters: Teresa Fitt, Stellarton; Alice (Dan) MacIntosh, Stellarton; Sally (Arthur) Brennan, Lourdes; Winnie (Baker) Dykens, Stellarton; Pat (Noreen) Fitt, Telford; Joan (Percy) Pellerine, Stellarton; Rita Fitt, Stellarton; Cathy (Allison) Ross, Blue Mountain; Art Fitt, Stellarton; and 72 nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents he was predeceased by a son, John Joseph; and brother, John.
Cremation has taken place. The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 7th in the H.W. Angus Funeral Home, New Glasgow. Funeral mass will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Feb 8th in Our Lady of Lourdes Roman Catholic Church with Father Peter MacDonald officiating. A reception will follow in the church hall.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Neddie may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Kidney Foundation of Nova Scotia.
