GARNER, PETER H. - 1928 - 2013 - Peter H. Garner passed away at Pickering, Ontario on March 21, 2013. He was the son of H. Mills and Edith (Morris) Garner of England. Peter was educated at Marlborough College in Wiltshire. He is survived by his wife, Alice, sons John and Michael of Ontario and Andrew of Moncton and grandchildren Steven, Fiona and Emmett. Peter began his working career in London before emigrating to Canada. He spent 15 years with the CBC in Toronto followed by 11 years at the Canadian Manufacturers Association and was Executive Director of the Saint John Bicentennial Commission. He completed his working life at the NB Occupational Health and Safety Commission. Peter sang in choirs, in his words, he began in the choir of Marlborough College as a treble and left as a bass. He waged a long battle with Parkinson's Disease, having been diagnosed in 1988, and spent part of his retirement in Moncton.
Memorial service to be held at the Accettone Funeral Home Ltd in Ajax, Ontario following cremation. Donations to the Moncton Hospital Foundation in Peter's memory would be appreciated.
