Hogan, Jessie Ruth, 103 of Windsor, Hants County, passed away on Friday, March 22, 2013 in the Dykeland Lodge, Windsor. Born on August 3, 1909 in Vaughan, Hants County. She was a daughter of the late John and Harriett (Houghton) Hebb. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Jessie was very well known for her amazing memory. She was renowned for her ability to provide most anyone in the area a dissertation on their family tree additionally her recall of the history of the original Zwicker Lake water levels contributed to the decision of maintaining their current level allowing the cottage owners to continue enjoying water frontage. She was also well known for her baking, cooking, rug making, and quilting. Jessie was very family oriented ensuring her children received a good education. She was fiercely proud of the success her children and grandchildren enjoying the success in their respective lives. Surviving are her son, Grant (Melba), Mounty Uniacke; daughters, Iva (James) Wilson, Winnipeg, Manitoba; Cora (Malcolm) Lunn, Brooklyn, Hants County; grandchildren, Brenda, Wanda, Stephen, Calla, Cathy, Carmen, Maurice and Robert; twelve great-grandchildren. Predeceased by her husband, Lewis (1988); son, Sterling; granddaughter, Carol Lunn; brothers, Percy, Leslie; sister, Elva.There will be no visitation by request. Funeral service was held 11 a.m. Monday, March 25, 2013 in Lower Vaughan United Church, Lower Vaughan. Pastor Craig Faulkner officiating. Interment was in Lower Vaughan United Church Cemetery. Jessie’s would like to thank the staff of Dykleland for the exceptional love and care they provided her. In lieu of flowers donations were requested be made to the Lower Vaughan United Church or Dykeland Lodge, Windsor.
