James 'Buster' Jenkins

It is with great sadness, that we announce the untimely passing of James ‘Buster’ Jenkins, dear son, husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend on Friday, March 22, 2013, in Glace Bay.
Born in Glace Bay, Buster was the son of Leah (Collins) Jenkins and the late Alex Jenkins.
Buster was employed at the Sydney Steel Plant for over 30 years.
He was an avid sports fan and enjoyed playing pool and darts. In his younger years, Buster loved playing softball with the Birch Grove Lynk Electric team. He deeply enjoyed watching his children and grandchildren playing sports from T-ball to high school hockey.
Buster is survived by his wife, Joann Hynes; stepchildren, Jody (Annette), Glace Bay, Natosha, Ontario; son, Ryan (Shirley), Reserve Mines; seven grandchildren, Jordan, Trevor, Branden, Jodi, Mackenzie, Cam and Caelynn; brothers, Brenden (Shirley), Albert (June), Robert, Rudy (Doreen), Wade (Denise), Clyde (Leone), Roy; sisters, Jane (Ken), Claudine (Will), Caroline (Ron) and Marilyn.
Besides his father, Buster was predeceased by a brother, Verne, brothers-in-law, John MacDonald, Blair MacPherson, Wayne Hynes, Billy Hynes, Fabe Nash, nephews, Allan, Richard, Justin Jenkins, Lee Hynes and in-laws, Jack and Gertie Hynes.
There will be no visitation. Cremation has taken place. A funeral service will be held on Thursday at 10 a.m. in the V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home Chapel, 16 Reserve St., Glace Bay, with Rev. Clayton Austin officiating.
As an expression of sympathy for Buster, memorial donations in his memory may be made to Nova Scotia Heart & Stroke Foundation or the Kidney Foundation.
