It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Margaret L. MacDonald, in her 85th year, at the Victoria Haven Nursing Home on March 25, 2013.
Born in Glace Bay, she was the daughter of the late Albert and Annie Mae Penney.
She was a longtime employee of Glace Bay General Hospital.
Margaret was a member of Epworth United Church.
Surviving are daughter, Nancy (Clyde) Dean, Glace Bay; sons, Wesley (Patricia) Penney, Oromocto, N.B., Jack (Rose) MacDonald, Dartmouth, N.S.; sister, Gloria Campbell, Edmonton, Alta.; brothers, Richard (Lolly), Glace Bay, Arthur (Ethel), Moncton, N.B.; sister-in-law, Lorraine Penney, Glace Bay. Also survived by eight grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Predeceased by husband, Donald ‘Jeff’ MacDonald, sister, Gladys Ferguson and brother, Albert.
Cremation has taken place under the direction of Patten Funeral Home, 71 Union St., Glace Bay. There will be no visitation or funeral service to honour Margaret’s wishes. Private family burial will be held at a later date in Greenwood Cemetery.
