Alfred Joseph MacDonald, 84 of Dartmouth, formerly of Glace Bay passed away peacefully March 24, 2013, in the Palliative Care Unit of the VG Hospital.
He was a son of the late Clarence and Freda (Frank) MacDonald. Alfie had a kind and gentle nature and a dry sense of humour and was well liked by all who knew him. He was employed as a mechanic for most of his working years. Alfie and Kay loved to go camping and still enjoyed it well into their senior years.
He is survived by daughters, Debbi (Malcolm) Barrett and Kathy MacDonald; grandchildren, Travis (Carly), Devin and Ashely; great-grandchildren, Danilyn and Makayla. He is also survived by brother, Doug and sisters, Viola, Evelyn, Rita and Virginia, and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by wife Kay (LeBlanc); brother, Chess and sister, Mary.

Cremation has taken place. Service and interment to be at a later date in Glace Bay.
