MORRIS, THERESA - After a valiant struggle to maintain quality life, it is with great sadness that the family of Theresa Morris announces her passing at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital on March 26. Theresa was born in Douglastown, Quebec on April 29, 1926 and was the daughter of the late Archibald and Dora (MacDonald) Maloney. She was predeceased by her loving husband of 59 years, Graham Morris and youngest son, Jim. Theresa and Graham made their home in Campbellton for 28 years where they raised their family, had long time friends and fond memories. They moved to Moncton in 1979 where Theresa found new interests and made many loving and caring friends. Theresa was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and aunt. She will be remembered for her sense of humor, positive spirit, pride of Irish heritage and homemade treats. Her happiest moments were when she was surrounded by her husband and family. One of her favourite pastimes was playing cards with friends and she loved to spend summers at the cottage. She was a long time and faithful member of St. Augustine’s Roman Catholic Church and was a member of the C.W.L. Theresa will be sadly missed by her daughter, Donna Jones (Cecil) of New Maryland; son, Michael of Mississauga; grandchildren, Stephanie Russon (Jason), Christopher Jones, Matthew Morris (Nick Amoroso) and Bryan Morris; daughter-in-law, Andrea Morris; great granddaughter Addison Russon; special friend, Janet Daigle and many nieces and nephews. Theresa was the last surviving member of her immediate family. The family would like to thank Dr. William Harper, who she considered her angel, for the excellent care over the years; and, the staff of Canterbury Hall, Riverview and Brunswick Hall, Fredericton, for the loving care and support provided to Theresa.
In keeping with Theresa’s wishes, there will be no visitation hours. The funeral service will be held at St. Augustine’s Roman Catholic Church on Saturday, March 30, 2013 at 11:00 am with Rev. Allison Carroll officiating. A reception will be held in the Parish Hall following the service. For those who wish, donations in Theresa’s memory can be made to the Arthritis Society, Heart and Stroke Foundation or to a memorial of the donor’s choice.
