Georgina Wilmot
Wilmot, Georgina, 79, Millbrook First Nation, passed away Wednesday, March 27, 2013 at home, surrounded by all who loved her. Born in Nyanza, Cape Breton, she was a daughter of the late Louis and Florence (GooGoo) Isadore. Georgina was head chamber maid having worked at the Abenaki Motel. She was Past President of the Millbrook Women’s Club, member of the Millbrook Senior’s Club, fund raiser for St. Anne’s Committee and volunteered in various community functions. She enjoyed doing leather work, beadwork, quilting and loved bingo. She also loved cooking, baking and gardening.
She is survived by her children, Spencer (Valerie), Allister (Jane), Randy (Heather), Donna, Kelly (Janet), Connie, Kirby, Terry Ann; 14 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; sister Regina Bernard; numerous nieces and nephews; God-son Jeffrey.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Simon Isaac Wilmot; son Fulton Robert; grandson Michael; brothers Noel, Peter, Leo; sisters Martha, Susan, Annie, Bridget.
Visitation will take place on Saturday, March 30th after 3 pm at Georgina’s family home, 11 Marshall’s Lane, Millbrook until funeral service on Tuesday, April 2nd at 11 am in the Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church, Millbrook. Father Dariusz Miskowicz will officiate with burial to follow in the Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church Cemetery, Millbrook. . A meal and salite will follow at the community hall. Arrangements are under the direction of Mattatall~Varner Funeral Home, 55 Young Street, Truro.
