Helen Viola Hood
Age 93, of the Glen Haven Manor, New Glasgow, N.S., and formerly of Coll Ave., Stellarton, passed away on Thursday, March 14, 2013 in the manor.
Born in Thorburn she was a daughter of the late Tupper and Josie (Mason) MacLeod. Helen was a longtime resident of Stellarton. She was a hairdresser by trade and had worked for Save Easy and ended her working career at Poulains Pharmacy. Helen was a member of the Sharon St. John United Church.
She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Helen’s family was the most important part of her life and she cherished every moment spent with them. Surviving are daughters: Carmilla (Gordon) Cameron of Mark Rd., Riverton; Murdena Ferguson of Desable, P.E.I.; a son, James (Jim) (Eileen) Hood of Stellarton; daughter-in-law, Linda Hood of Moncton; 10 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild. Helen was predeceased by her husband, Clarence; a son, Larry; brothers, Raymond, Wilson and William; sisters, Evelyn Clark and Ferna Betts; sons-in-law, Archie MacDonald and Henry Ferguson.
