GRACE WOSTRADOWSKI
Grace Evelyn Wostradowski, born June 20, 1917 passed away December 14, 2012. She arrived on the family farm near Avonlea to parents George and Lucy Ridgway, who came as homesteaders in 1912. She attended Richburg School, which her father and brothers built, to grade 10 then took her grade 12 by correspondence. On November 30, 1937 she married John and moved to a home they built in Claybank and later moved to the Brick Plant, where he worked at Dominion Firebrick and Clay Products Ltd. for 40 years and raised their 4 children. In 1976 they retired to Avonlea and built a new home where they lived together for 22 years and she another 12 after John’s passing. During these years she was active in the community and served as secretary–treasurer of the Drop-In Center while maintaining her beautiful garden and yard. She was an Avon lady for many years and enjoyed numerous hobbies. Grace was predeceased by John her beloved husband of 61 years on April 3, 1998, her parents, three brothers, five sisters and their spouses. She is survived by two daughters Frances (Terry) Aikens – Briercrest, Wendie (Allan) Templeton - Pense; two sons Garry (Marilyn) - Kimberly, BC, Ron (Bonnie) - Airdrie, AB; ten grandchildren, twenty-six great-grandchildren, nine great-great-grandchildren, three sisters-in-law; many nieces, nephews and friends. A Memorial Service will be held at St. Andrew's United Church, Moose Jaw on Saturday, April 6, 2013 at 2 pm. Reverend Ella Frank and Special Friend Reverend Marilyn Keerak will officiate. Interment has taken place at Sunset Cemetery. As an expression of sympathy the family would appreciate donations to Coteau Range Manor, Box 60, Avonlea, SK S0H 0C0.
