A shining light faded away in the early morning hours of March 30, 2013. Margaret went peacefully with her family by her side.

Margaret leaves to mourn, her dearly beloved husband Chris, daughters Linda Hunt (Noel), Bob Caines, Karen Giddings (Randy), Christine Laursen (Murray), Lisa Dohnalek (Bob), Sonya Smoley (Joe), and only son Christian. She left a wonderful legacy of twenty-one grandchildren, twenty great-grandchildren and seven great great-grandchildren.

Margaret was predeceased by her loving daughter Ingrid Caines, father Walter Atkins when she was three years old, her stepfather William Metcalfe, mother Annie, sisters Ruby and Bessie and brother Allan.

Mom spent most of her years in B.C. raising her family and as the construction industry would dictate, mother would pack up the house, gather all her brood and follow off after dad. She was a devoted mother, seamstress, cook and loved doing her needlepoint and cross stitch. In her later years she took up golfing, curling and played a mean game of pool

She and dad shared a lifelong love affair that lasted for 72 years. Everyone loved to hear dad call mom "Maggie", his special endearment.

The family will be forever grateful for the professional care that mother received and the many friends she made while living at The Hamlets.

There will be a Celebration of Margaret's Life on Sunday, April 14, 2013 at 1:30 p.m. for family and friends at The Hamlets at Westsyde.
