It is with heavy hearts that we the family announce the sudden passing of Raymond Hill, on Feb. 9, 2010, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney, surrounded by his family.
Born in Point Edward, he was the son of the late Pauline Hill.
Raymond was employed at the Sydney Steel Plant working in all the departments, until his retirement.
He enjoyed playing tarabish, darts and bowling as well as spending time gardening.
Raymond is survived by his son, Raymond Hill; sisters, Isabelle (Chippy) Rudderham, Marilyn (Chuck) Bisset, Leona (Bernie) MacDonald, Velma Cameron, Joyce Hill, Lorraine Hill, Catherine Hill; brothers, Wilburn (Shirley), Nelson (Helen), Franklin (Shelly), Douglas (Joyce) and Winston as well as many nieces and nephews.
Besides his mother, Raymond was predeceased by his wife, Mildred Faye (Boutilier) Hill (2007), two infant brothers, Lewis and Ernest.
There will be no visitation by request. A memorial service will be held 3 p.m. Friday, Feb. 12 at the S.W. Chant & Son Funeral Home, 564 Alexandra St., Sydney, with Pastor Sheldon Chant officiating. Interment to take place at a later date.
