Bruce passed away peacefully on Monday, April 1, 2013 at the age of 75.

Bruce is survived by his loving wife Ruth Hughes and their daughter Emma. He is also survived by his daughters Shelaigh and Kyra, granddaughters Fauve and Claire and twin brother Bob.

Before moving west, Bruce began a series of colourful careers ranging from a CNR locomotive fireman to a St. Boniface police officer. When he finally settled in B.C., his flair for food paired with his charismatic attitude led him to a lasting career as a restaurateur. Bruce's creativity was displayed not only in the foods he prepared, but in the stories he told. He was, in any context, a 'people' person, an entertainer, and a man of many words who will be dearly missed.
