DOUCETTE, Larry Anthony – age 71, of Yarmouth, passed away on April 9, 2013 in the Yarmouth Regional Hospital surrounded by his family. Larry was born on February 14, 1942 and was the son of the late Frank Walter and Mary Mae (Muise) Doucette. Larry worked for the Water Department in the town of Yarmouth for many years as a foreman. He later worked as a foreman for Aberdeen Paving and then became a lobster fisherman. Larry was an avid deer, moose, bear and rabbit hunter. He truly enjoyed camping with family and friends and also being in the outdoors. He enjoyed raising cattle, farming and having a large garden. He also loved fixing up and selling old tractors. Larry loved playing with and teasing his grandchildren. He supplied his grandchildren with pumpkins for Halloween from his garden (and lots of others with vegetables). He also loved to play practical jokes on his many friends and he recounted the stories for a good laugh afterwards. He kept his sense of humor and kind nature until the very end. He is survived by his wife of fifty years, Ann Lorraine (Sally Hattie); children, Kim, Lloydminster, Sask.; Randy (Emma), Fall River and Neil (Sheri), Pleasant Valley; grandchildren, Jason, Jenna, Emma, Ethan, Samantha, Jacob and Zachary; sisters, Elizabeth and Nora (George); brothers, Walter (Sandra) and Gilbert; Many nieces, nephews, cousins and aunts. Funeral arrangements were under the care and direction of H. M. Huskilson’s Funeral Home, 29 Albert Street, Yarmouth, with visitation on Friday, April 12 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. with prayers at 7:30 p.m. A funeral mass was held at 10 a.m. on Saturday at Saint Ambrose Cathedral with Father John MacPherson officiated. In lieu of flowers, donations in Larry’s memory may be made to the Gilles Boudreau and Friends Cancer Help Fund.
