The family of the late Shirley Reid would like to extend our sincere appreciation and gratitude for the love and support from our family and friends during the recent passing of our beloved wife, mother and grandmother.

A special thank you to all those who called and visited our home, sent food, cards, emails and flowers, visited the funeral home and made donations to the Palliative Care Unit.

Thank you is extended to Dr. Davis and Colleen for their care and compassion, and to Dr. Vair (Halifax), Dr. Van Niekerk, Dr. Siddiqui, Dr. Jones and the staff of the Cancer Clinic; also to Dr. Dean and the Palliative Care staff at WMRH, it seems that words are just not enough. Thank you to Lisa and Bernetta for the excellent care and friendship that you both provided to Mom and Dad.

Thank you to Rev. Canon Gordon Druggett for your visits and support to Mom and for the beautiful service and to the church choir and organist, Mrs. J. Whitten. Also thank you to the readers: Heidi Ronayne and Megan Reid (granddaughters), Louise Brake (niece) and Rickie Murley (sister-in-law), to grandchildren: Jonathan, Heidi, Jacob and Megan for bringing the gifts for Communion and to Mom’s pallbearers: Greg Mitchell, Gary Murley, Brian Joseph, Chris Murley, Mark Brake and Ulrica Pye (nephews and niece).

Sincere thanks to Florence and Mindy and the staff at Fillatre’s Funeral Home for your compassion and professionalism.

Heartfelt thanks to our aunts, uncles, cousins and friends for all your support during this very difficult time and for spending countless hours with Mom and us at the hospital. A special thank you to family who traveled to be with us. Mom’s family and friends meant so much to her and she was truly grateful to have you all as part of her life. She was a loving wife, the best mom, a very proud grandmother, a wonderful sister and sister-in-law, a special aunt and a great friend. She will be forever missed and loved always.

Husband Max and children: Glenn, Donna, Sean and families.
