James “Jim†Lovell Mowery August 30, 1916-February 8, 2010 James Lovell Mowery, beloved husband, father, and grandfather passed away peacefully on February 8, 2010 at the age of 93. Jim is survived and dearly missed by his loving wife of 73 years, Ida and three sons Arthur “Jim†(Iva) of Williams Lake, BC, Glenn “Bud†(Elsie) of Saskatoon and Keith (Karen) of Weldon. Also cherishing his memory are his six grandchildren; James Mowery, Glenda Winger, Bill Mowery, Denyce Sawchuk, Marla Yeadon, and Kyla Taylor and 10 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his youngest sister Luella Stark. He was predeceased by his parents Charles and Mathilda Mowery, eleven siblings, granddaughter Venita and great-grandaughter Emily. Grampa Jim was a good man; that is how Gramma Ida refers to him. He was a kind, gentle, loving man who would give the shirt off his back or a tool from his shop to any person in need. He had a gift to fix or build anything, from miniature horse and buggy sets to replica cars. Grampa always smelled like a mixture of pipe tobacco and aftershave. He gave wonderful hugs and encouragement to his family. We are all blessed to have been loved by such a special man. Gramma and Grampa shared a special love that resulted in 73 years of marriage. They held hands every night as they went to sleep and danced together for as long as they were able. Their love and respect for each other have been an inspiration for all of us. In life’s eventide, at twilight, At His door I’ll knock and wait; By the precious love of Jesus
I shall enter Heaven’s gate. He the pearly gates will open, So that I may enter in: For He purchased my redemption And forgave me all my sin. A Memorial Service for Jim will be held at a later date. If friends so desire memorial donations can be directed to the Salvation Army or to the Weldon Country Villa. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Fedusiak Funeral Chapel, Melfort, SK 752-3838.
