At the Garden Home, Charlottetown, on Wednesday, April 17, 2013, the death occurred of Mary Grace Storey (nee Fraser), age 92 years.
Born April 10, 1921 in Montague, she was the daughter of the late John E. and Florence Mae (Kennedy) Fraser. Mary attended Montague School and high school and she received her Nurses Degree from the Prince Edward Island Hospital School of Nursing in 1943. In 1946 she married Joseph G. Storey. Following their marriage, Mary did private nursing at the P.E.I Hospital and worked in the Prince County Hospital School of Nursing from 1951-1957. Mary and her husband moved to Florida in the fall of 1957 where she continued in the nursing field at Broward General Medical Center in Fort Lauderdale. She continued her education at Broward Community College. In 1980 she retired and moved to Boynton Beach, Florida, with her husband. She was an active elder at First Presbyterian Church for six years, a moderator for the PW, and a member of the choir for 20 years.
She is survived by her nephews Donald (Melanie) Fraser, John (Moira) Fraser, Roy (Kelly) Fraser, John (Elaine) Moar, and Kenneth Moar; and niece, Elizabeth (Lowell) Boehner. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her loving husband, Joseph; brother, Charles J. Fraser; and sister, Edna Moar.
A service will be held at a later date in the Hillcrest United Church.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Hillcrest United Church, Montague, Choir Fund or Trinity United Church, Charlottetown, Choir Fund would be appreciated by the family.
