James Blackman, 87, of Harbourstone Enhanced Care Facility, formerly of 512 Victoria Rd., passed away Tuesday, April 16, 2013, at the residence.
Born in Sydney, he was the son of the late Charles and Helena Blackman.
He was an adherent of St. Alban’s Anglican Church. James was a quiet peaceful man who loved to walk and observe his surroundings and greet his friends. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family.
He is survived by his cousins, Clotilda Yakimchuk, Thelma Ince and Donovan Coward.
He was predeceased by his brother Everton ‘Lefty’ (Delores) and several cousins.
Mr. Blackman will have visitation on Saturday, April 20 at 12 until 1:30 p.m. at T.W. Curry Parkview Chapel followed by a funeral service in the chapel at 1:30 p.m. with Archbishop Waterman officiating. Interment in Hardwood Hill Cemetery, Sydney.
