RONAYNE, Edward Patrick– Passed peacefully away on Thursday, February 11, 2010, Edward Patrick Ronayne, in his 89th year. Predeceased by his wife Marie (Holden), daughter Claire, brothers Ron and Bert and sister Mercedes. He will be remembered with love and respect by his family: son Paul, daughters Paulette and Michelle (Tom Hounsell); grandchildren: Robyn (Alfred Sanford), Erin, Catherine, Kyle, Elizabeth (Tavis Dodds), Francesca (Colin Hearns), Nicholas, Mark and Kieran, great-grandchildren: Fhionna, Caoilte, Cadwallen, brother Patrick (Phyllis), sisters-in-law Madeline and May, his friend and companion Florence Learning, dear cousin Margaret Nugent, his nieces and nephews, and a large circle of friends.
Ed will be fondly remembered by his friends and colleagues from the former CNR and CN Marine, the Naturals Group of St. John’s Rotary Club, and the Knights of Columbus.
Ed was a dynamic person whose absolute commitment to his family, work and community activities was balanced by a ready wit and enjoyment of life. Memories of his conscientiousness and enthusiasm will be cherished by those blessed by his presence in their lives.
Resting at Caul’s Funeral Home, LeMarchant Road. Visitation Saturday and Sunday from 12 noon - 4 p.m. and 7 p.m.- 9 p.m. and Monday from 10 a.m. - 12 noon. Mass of Christian burial on Monday, February 15th at 2:30 p.m. from Corpus Christi Church. Interment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
