Date de naissance : 21 décembre 1946
Date de décès : 16 avril 2013
They say nothing lasts forever but we believe a mother’s love and our memories are undying even if the body is not. It is with the deepest sorrow and regret that we announce the sudden passing of our loving mother and wife, Hazel Joan (MacDonald) Kerr, at her residence, at the age of 66 years.
Hazel will be fondly remembered by her husband, Murray; sons, Cecil (Deanne), Gillams, N.L., Kimball (Tammy), St. Lawrence, N.L.; daughter, Mary Alana (Dan), Crossfield, Alta. She also leaves to mourn five grandchildren, Kurtis, Charles, Nicky, Emma and Evan.
She was predeceased by her parents, Mary Ellen and Johnny and brother, Archibald Timothy ‘Tim’ MacDonald
Hazel was born at home in Baddeck on Dec. 21, 1946, to Mary Ellen (McIntyre) and John C. MacDonald and lived her entire life in Baddeck. She married Murray in 1967 and proudly raised two sons, Cecil and Kimball, and daughter, Mary Alana.
To all who knew Hazel, she will be remembered as being a loving, giving and empathetic person. She was diagnosed with cancer in the prime of her life and through strength and determination, overcame the disease to live 25 years before being suddenly taken from us.
Cremation has taken place at Hazel’s request and a memorial service will be held at a later date, at which time family and friends can celebrate Hazel’s life.
Donations to the Canadian Heart & Stroke Foundation in Hazel’s memory would be gratefully appreciated by the family.
Arrangements for the late Hazel Kerr under the care of Sunset Funeral Co-operative, Margaree Valley.
