Tibbetts, Donald C. – 89, of Ward’s Brook, Cumberland County passed away Saturday, April 20, 2013 at South Cumberland Community Care Centre, Parrsboro. Born in Ward’s Brook, he was a son of the late Stanley and LeEtta (MacDonald) Tibbetts. He was a veteran of World War II, serving with the Royal Canadian Navy. Donald was a graduate of Dalhousie University and the Nova Scotia Technical College. He was an engineer with the National Research Council in Halifax retiring in 1986. He was a member of the Minas Masonic Lodge, Parrsboro. He is survived by daughters, Sharon Tibbetts, Halifax; Deborah MacDonald, Dartmouth; a son, Alan (George McCaffrey), Saint John, N.B.; three grandchildren; two great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife, the former Rita Jennings; a son, Brian; a brother, Gordon. Funeral 11 a.m. on Wednesday [April 24, 2013] in Grace United Church, Port Greville, Keith Selwyn-Smith, DLM officiating. Burial to follow in the church cemetery.
