It is with sadness that we, the family, announce the passing of James Anthony MacGillivary on Sunday, April 21, 2013, at home.
Born in Glace Bay, he was the son of the late Charles and Catherine (Walsh) MacGillivary.
He was a member of Immaculate Conception Church, Bridgeport, and worked for the street department in Glace Bay.
He is survived by his daughter, Eileen MacGillivary; brothers, Pius (Rosemary), Jerry (Lorraine), Ralph (Margie), Glace Bay; sisters, Mae (Edwin) Graham, Tower Road, and Cecilia Bennett, Glace Bay; Bernadette (Aucoin) and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his son, John Thomas, brothers, John, Daniel, Joseph, Peter, Charles, Nash, sister, Sadie (Lawrence) Donovan.
There will be no visitation, by request. A funeral mass celebrating Jim’s life will be held on Friday, April 26 at 11 a.m. in Immaculate Conception Church, Bridgeport. Rev. Daniel Boudreau will be presiding. Interment in the parish cemetery.
